Stonehill's crowning glory is its huge and handsome grade II listed barn which dates from the 17th century. An integral part of the old farm it was used as a threshing barn and later as stables. These days, this stunning space, restored and warmed by underfloor heating, provides an ideal setting for private events such family celebrations, courses, classes, exhibitions and, of course, wedding receptions.
With its tiled floor and mighty wooden beams this generous space is an ideal venue for a more relaxed and informal wedding party and adapts itself to all types of gathering – a barn dance, disco, sit-down dinner, barbeque or drinks reception. It wil comfortably accommodate up to 150 people. We have no "wedding packages" but encourage you to be as creative with the space as you like to design your own special day. We can also help you with a variety of local caterers and suppliers.
Wooden double doors open onto the entirely private wedding garden and beyond the land is bounded by meadow, home to foxes and badgers, rabbits, bats and deer and an abundance of birds and butterflies. There is also ample parking space.
The wedding party can also rent the house itself and adjoining cottage for the duration of the wedding or longer. They are a perfect pre-wedding haven for the bride and her bridesmaids, for family members coming from afar or for favoured guests.
