Dove Cottage

The cottage has been lovingly converted from one of the farm's original out-buildings. It sleeps up to six in two double bedrooms and one twin, all en suite, but single visitors are also welcome. The upstairs room has two sofa beds, creating a roomy family suite for four or five, depending on the size of your children.

Like the house itself, Dove Cottage retains many of the building's original features, such as the old beams, brought up to date with bright jewel-like colours. It is fitted with all the facilities to make for a comfortable stay, with is own spacious kitchen, living-room and dining-room. Access to the outside areas from Dove Cottage is limited.

Only seven miles from Oxford, the cottage is ideal for visiting academics to the universities or those on business trips and provides a peaceful bolt-hole at the end of a busy working day. For walkers and sight-seers, the beautiful Cotswold countryside is not far away and there are many National Trust properties and other attractions, such as Blenheim Palace and the Didcot Railway Museum within easy reach.

The cottage can also be rented together with the house, accommodating 13 adults in total, for big family celebrations. Many couples, holding their wedding party in the old barn, make use of the conveniently close accommodation for friends coming from afar. And the bride and her bridesmaids have been known to stay there the night before the big day.

Breakast, including eggs from Stonehill's own hens, is provided for those on a short stay. A number of gastro pubs in the vicinity offer an alternative to cooking for yourself!
